On June 10, It's the Anniversary of Mrs. Gayane's Deceased Son, How Could This Happen: Ruben Melikyan on the Detention of Gayane Hakobyan
Human rights defender and former Ombudsman of Artsakh, Ruben Melikyan, has addressed the detention of Gayane Hakobyan, who is accused of the alleged abduction of Ashot Pashinyan, the parent of a soldier who was killed during the 44-day war.
“It is simply disgusting. June 10 is the anniversary of Mrs. Gayane's deceased son. How could this happen? How could this happen? Shame, shame, and more shame. P.S. To the advocates of the 'pure legal process,' I would remind them of the question raised over 2000 years ago: 'Is man for the law, or is the law for man?' I would remind them, but I won’t,” Melikyan wrote on his Facebook page.
