Patient Transfers through the Lachin Corridor to Armenia Restored with Red Cross Mediation

Patient transfers through the Lachin Corridor to Armenia have been restored today with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs at the ICRC's Armenia office, shared this information in an interview with Armenia Today. According to her, 15 patients have already been transferred to specialized medical centers in Armenia accompanied by the Red Cross.

“Today we have also transported humanitarian aid using cargo trucks. Since May 17, we have resumed these operations,” Amatuni stated.

She informed that various humanitarian cargoes have been transferred, primarily medical supplies and medications intended for local medical establishments, as well as some materials necessary for carrying out the ICRC's humanitarian work on the ground. Amatuni mentioned that from May 17 to today, a total of 16 trucks have delivered humanitarian assistance through the Lachin Corridor.
