Why Azerbaijan Closed Iran's Cultural Representation in Baku: IRNA

The closure of the Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural representation in Baku comes after the expulsion of its representative and serves as a pretext for the Azerbaijani government amid recent disagreements between the two countries, a source told IRNA in an interview.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always had good intentions regarding its relationships with neighboring countries and has sought to resolve existing issues through dialogue, avoiding irrational, emotional, and tension-provoking actions. Therefore, some statements made by certain Azerbaijani media on this matter are pure lies,” the source quoted by IRNA said.

It is noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses significant property in Baku, and the recent actions by the Azerbaijani side are unilateral and hasty justifications. According to the Iranian side, the situation can be resolved through dialogue.
