Sergey Lavrov and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian Meet

In Cape Town, during the summit of foreign ministers from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, a meeting took place between the chief diplomats of Iran and Russia.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Sergey Lavrov discussed various issues on the bilateral, regional, and international agenda. They also addressed the prospects for restoring the Iran nuclear deal.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the ministers agreed to strengthen trade-economic cooperation and highlighted the high level of foreign policy coordination between Moscow and Tehran.
