Head of Dilijan Criminal Police Arrested: Prosecutor's Office Spokesperson

Aram Ghaytmzyan, the head of the criminal investigation department of the Dilijan division of the Tavush Regional Police, has been arrested. This was reported by spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office, Gor Abrahamyan.

He has been charged under Article 196, Part 2, Item 3 of the Criminal Code (causing severe physical pain or severe mental suffering to a minor).

It should be noted that a motion for his detention will soon be submitted to the court.

The Prosecutor's Office has stated that public criminal prosecution has been initiated against Ghaytmzyan under Article 196, Part 2, Item 3 of the Criminal Code for the reason that he engaged in an unfounded argument with a minor employee of the "Haghartsin" restaurant and hotel complex in Dilijan at around 11:30 PM on April 10, 2023, and inflicted multiple blows to the head and various parts of the body of the minor A.A., causing him severe physical pain.
