We Are Ready to Return Villages to Azerbaijan if Azerbaijan Returns Armenian Lands: Pashinyan

We say that we are ready to return the villages, but are you ready to return the lands of Armenia? If yes, then let’s exchange right now,” said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting with the Armenian community in Moldova.

“It's not that we are constantly dreaming about giving away something. We are ready to give and take. Thus, we do not undermine Armenia's interests. We propose to introduce a demilitarized zone along the entire border. We want to eliminate all possible causes for escalation and aggressive policies,” he noted.

Pashinyan clarified that the 29,800 square kilometers includes Artsvashen, as well as the territories of Berqaber, Paravakar, Aygeovit, and Vazashen villages, which have been under Baku's control since the 1990s.

“According to the 1975 maps, the 29,800 square kilometers also includes the territories in the Sotk-Khoznavar section that have been recently occupied due to invasion,” added Pashinyan.

According to him, Azerbaijan, for its part, claims that its lands are under Armenian control. “I say the same thing both privately and publicly. This gives us an advantage,” the Prime Minister stated.
