Official Arrests Expected: 'Hraparak'
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that during a closed session in the National Assembly discussing last year's budget execution, the director of the National Security Service (NSS), Armen Abazyan, made noteworthy statements. The main topic of the closed session was drug trafficking, which has become a threat to national security in Armenia.
Abazyan admitted that both the scale of drug trafficking and the age of users have significantly decreased, and that there is a considerable and dangerous presence among minors. However, he assured that they have found a way to combat this issue and that active measures are being implemented.
In this context, Abazyan stated that several officials are expected to be arrested soon, who are involved in this business in one way or another. He also discussed drugs being smuggled into Armenia and firmly declared that he would issue a search warrant for Mihran Poghosyan, vowing to bring him back to Armenia and ensure his arrest.
From Abazyan's remarks, attendees understood that despite Poghosyan sending several messages via videos claiming he helped disclose drugs at 'Mrgani' LLC, he is directly implicated in the case of bringing cocaine into Armenia.
