Our State is on the Brink of Abyss, Which They Want to Collapse by All Means: Ruben Vardanyan
In this situation, we are all in the same boat, regardless of individual status. We must put everything aside and defend the Homeland. If we all unite around a clearly articulated idea that no one will violate, then I see no problem. This was stated by former Prime Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Ruben Vardanyan during the broadcast of NEWS.am’s "Factor of Power" program, in response to a question about possible cooperation with Samvel Babayan.
“Another thing is that Babayan has his own story in Artsakh, with its positives and negatives. During his time, many things were unacceptable for many. I do not want to discuss issues related to positions in Artsakh, as I believe this is a wrong approach. I have already expressed my position. I am familiar with Samvel Babayan's program; he has experience, and people acknowledge that, but in the 21st century, new challenges have emerged, so ideas may arise, but they must receive the support of the people,” Vardanyan said.
According to him, Babayan's small rally showed that despite the meetings that took place over the past two months, people are not ready to stand by his side. “Therefore, as the president has said, we must unite and attempt not to change positions but to prepare for the fight against the enemy. Our state is on the brink of an abyss, which they want to collapse by all means. We must do everything to protect our country, our Artsakh. To this end, we are creating the Front for Security and Development of Artsakh, which involves people from various sectors, but around one idea—setting aside personal interests,” the former prime minister emphasized.
