Kazakhstan Reclaims $14 Million in Case Against Nazarbayev's Nephew
Kazakhstan has successfully returned $14 million to the state in connection with the case against former President Nursultan Nazarbayev's nephew, Kairat Satibaldiuli. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
The Agency for Combating Corruption is taking measures within the framework of the ongoing investigation against Satibaldiuli and others to recover assets that have been illegally transferred out of the country, including criminally obtained financial means and other property.
“At the end of May, with the cooperation of the Prosecutor General's Office, which ensures international collaboration with the law enforcement agencies of foreign countries, $14 million in cash was returned from the United Arab Emirates,” the statement said.
It is reported that the recovered funds will be used for social purposes.
