VIDEO: The Most Likely Scenario Regarding the Enclaves is to Leave Things as They Are, Says Aghazaryan
The issue of enclaves has always been present, but it is clear that this issue is symmetrical, and the solution to this matter should be viewed in the context of signing a peace treaty, particularly how the solution would contribute to the sustainability of that peace. This was stated in an interview with NEWS.am by member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract party, Hovik Aghazaryan.
"The question is symmetrical; in terms of territory, it is approximately equivalent with an accuracy of 10 square kilometers. There will be an exchange, or it will remain as it is; this must also be agreed upon for the sustainability of the peace treaty that will be signed," he said.
When asked which scenario regarding the enclaves is more likely, Aghazaryan replied, "I believe the most likely scenario is to leave things as they are. In this case, it may happen that 29,800 becomes 29,810 square kilometers, or conversely, it could become 29,790 square kilometers." According to him, this means that Artsvashen would remain with them, while Tigranashen and the other enclaves would remain with Armenia.
"This is a more stable condition than any other solution. I believe we should not create additional centers of tension," he added.
