VIDEO: Situation in Kosovo - Serbs Clash with Kosovo Security Forces Continues

In Kosovo, the confrontation between the Serbian population of the municipalities of Zvecan, Leposavic, Zubin Potok, and North Mitrovica continues with the Kosovo police and international security forces.

The Serbian authorities have fully mobilized the army, sending troops to the border with Kosovo, where an oath-taking ceremony for elected mayors of the municipalities was held on May 25. However, the Serbs are contesting the legitimacy of the vote, as just over 3% of the population participated in the elections.

In the latest clashes on Monday, among the injured were 11 NATO soldiers arriving from Italy, three of whom are still in serious condition.

Serbian politicians believe that the current situation could provoke the start of a hot phase in the conflict. MP Ivan Kostich expects President Aleksandar Vucic to seek help from Russia.
