Poland's President Accidentally Links to Football Fan Page Instead of Erdogan in Congratulatory Message
Poland's President published a congratulatory message in Turkish on his social media page, but instead of linking to Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan's page, Duda mentioned a fan page of Istanbul's Beşiktaş football club. The congratulatory message was later removed, and a new post appeared with the correct link.
“I congratulate Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his victory in the presidential elections. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey and the 100th anniversary of the signing of the friendship treaty between the Republics of Poland and Turkey. We are ready to cooperate in ensuring regional security, developing NATO, and maintaining peace in Europe,” wrote Duda.
It is noteworthy that the second round of presidential elections took place in Turkey on May 28, with Recep Tayyip Erdogan garnering over 52% of the vote.
