North Korea Officially Announces Intention to Launch Satellite with Rocket

North Korea has officially notified Japan and the International Maritime Organization of its intention to launch an artificial satellite into Earth's orbit. This was reported by South Korean media.

According to information published by Japan's maritime security agency, a notice has been received from the DPRK authorities indicating that North Korea plans to attempt to send an artificial satellite into orbit between midnight on May 31 and midnight on June 11.

It has also been noted that a dangerous zone has been established in connection with this, and vessels and aircraft are advised not to traverse this area.
