Tragic Car Accident in Kotayk Province: 1 Dead and 7 Injured

On May 27, a tragic car accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 09:00, two vehicles, a Volkswagen and a VAZ 2106, collided on the 8th kilometer of the Garni-Artashat highway.

According to reports from the scene by shamshyan.com, one person died on the spot, while seven others were transported with varying degrees of injuries to hospitals in Abovyan and Yerevan.

In connection with the accident, a criminal case has been initiated in the Abovyan Investigative Division. Police and investigators are working to identify the drivers, the deceased, and the injured parties.

Witnesses at the scene stated that the deceased and several of the injured were residents of the Ararat Province, traveling to Garni to participate in wrestling competitions dedicated to the memory of a fallen wrestler.
