The World Around Armenia is Changing Rapidly, What Future Awaits Turkey? Russian Political Scientist

The environment around Armenia is changing very rapidly, so every decision by its leadership must assume a high degree of responsibility. This was stated by the prominent Russian political scientist and program director of the Valdai International Discussion Club, Timofey Bordachev, at the conference on "Armenia and Russia’s Military-Political Alliance: Challenges and Perspectives."

"According to the expert, there is currently a certain movement among the Armenian leadership, which is understanding the high degree of individual responsibility concerning the country. The decisions that are being made stem from the most important issue: the individual responsibility for the survival of the Armenian state in current conditions. Then, the situation will become clearer and will change. We do not know what the future holds for our neighbors, and we do not know what future awaits Turkey. Tomorrow, Erdogan may win the elections, but we saw in the first round that the existing political system there is fantastically vulnerable, and the economy, to put it mildly, is not thriving," Bordachev noted.

He believes that what has been said is somewhat relevant for Armenia's other neighbor, Azerbaijan, where a "third-rate oil dictatorship" is in place. The political scientist emphasized that it is unclear what the situation in that country will look like in a few years. According to him, the world is filled with uncertainty, and decisions must be made on a daily basis with a constant awareness of high personal responsibility.
