Political Show: Iran's Foreign Ministry on Zelensky's Statement
The spokesperson of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, described the recent statements made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a political show filled with baseless accusations. This was reported by Irna.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stated that it is against the war in Ukraine and its continuation, and it deeply regrets the suffering of the Ukrainian people. Tehran emphasizes the necessity of finding a political solution for an immediate cessation of hostilities and is ready to support its implementation,” Kanaani noted.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson called the continuation of Ukraine's president’s unfounded accusations against the Iranian people a complicity in the propaganda and information warfare against the Iranian people and government, aimed at attracting as many weapons and financial aid as possible from Western countries. He stated that the claims and political shows do not change the reality of the war in Ukraine.
“The refusal of the Ukrainian side to engage in talks with Iran to investigate the presented accusations indicates the baselessness of such claims in light of the political interests regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Kanaani concluded.
It is worth reminding that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Iran once again on May 24 of supplying drones to Russia for use in the Ukrainian war.
