Moscow Will Not Leave Them Unanswered: Comments from the Russian Foreign Ministry

Moscow assesses the impact of Tokyo's new sanctions on Russia's security and economy, stating that these actions will not go unanswered, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. This information is reported by RIA Novosti.

“It seems that Tokyo has set itself the task of becoming a leader in anti-Russian restrictions. We continue to monitor the practical implementation of such measures and evaluate their possible impact on national security and the economy. In any case, such illegitimate actions by the official Tokyo will not remain unanswered,” reads the statement from the ministry.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported that it has documented attempts by the Japanese government to accuse Moscow of “nuclear blackmail,” stating that “the attempts to attribute to Russia the absent intention to use nuclear weapons in connection with the events in Ukraine are nothing more than cynical, impure manipulations.”

“There has been no change in our positions on this issue. We call on Tokyo to show similar 'concern' regarding the U.S. nuclear weapons already deployed in Europe,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

Earlier, Japan expanded its sanctions against Russia, including 17 individuals and 78 organizations on the sanctions list.
