Details on the Explosion Incident in Apnagyugh: What Has Been Revealed

Today, on May 26, an emergency incident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 19:00, the operational management center of the Aragatsotn regional department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia received a notification that an explosion had taken place in the village of Apnagyugh.

A firefighting unit from the rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia also arrived on the scene.

According to Shamshyan.com, it was established that at a car repair point located at 1 Yerevanyan Highway in the same village, a 42-year-old resident of Aragatsotn, Edik M., was performing repairs on a disassembled engine, when, under still unspecified circumstances, an explosion occurred in the lower part of the engine. As a result, Edik M. sustained bodily injuries, and according to witnesses at the scene, his limbs were severed.

The injured man was transported to the Armenia Medical Center in Yerevan with the help of citizens.

The explosion caused damage to the roof of the car repair point, the windows of a nearby automobile service station, and the front end of a Jeep vehicle.

A group from the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Aragatsotn regional investigative department also arrived on the scene, led by senior investigator Benik Sargsyan for particularly important cases.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident.
