It's not going to be easy for former US President Trump. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president, according to the Associated Press.

44-year-old DeSantis has been the governor of Florida since 2019. Prior to that, he served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida from 2013 to 2018. He is considered the most serious challenger to former President Donald Trump among other Republican candidates.

It is worth noting that the presidential elections in the US will take place in November 2024.
