Charlie Hebdo Publishes Caricature of Erdoğan

The French magazine Charlie Hebdo has published a caricature of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on its cover, sparking significant scandal in Turkey. High-ranking officials have rapidly reacted with comments on Twitter, as reported by Ermenihaber.

Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin responded to the caricature, stating, "While the rags have lost their minds... we are on the right path. Sometimes, this is what evil looks like. It shows the way to the good. Do not worry, 'Charlie Hebdo.' Our nation will give you a louder and better response on May 28."

Fahrettin Altun, the head of the public relations department of the Turkish Presidency, also addressed the caricature, indicating that the magazine has published an "inhumane caricature targeting Erdoğan and once again proved how disgusting it is." He added, "It seems that our president's great success in the elections held on May 14 made these dishonorable people lose their sleep, disperse their sick mood, and vomit hatred. No matter what you do, you cannot intimidate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. You cannot divert us from the right path. We strongly condemn this immorality and pity them as they struggle against despair."
