Biden on Turkey's Elections
The world watched with great interest the presidential and parliamentary elections held in Turkey on May 14, as reported by Ermenihaber.am.
It became clear that the ruling "Justice and Development" party's coalition, known as the "People's Alliance," formed a majority in parliament, securing 322 out of 600 parliamentary mandates.
The presidential elections will be decided in a second round since the incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu failed to garner the necessary 50%+1 votes.
In this regard, U.S. President Joe Biden made a statement saying, "I hope whoever wins, wins," likely referring to the expectation that the elections will be conducted fairly and transparently, without manipulation.
