Belgium to Open Diplomatic Representation in Armenia
Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Haji Lakhbibi proposed that Belgium has decided to open diplomatic representations in Chișinău and Yerevan, as stated in a press release from Belgium's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement mentions that the war in Ukraine necessitates increased attention to the region and the adjustment of Brussels' diplomatic network to the current geopolitical situation.
“Belgium fully supports European efforts that can contribute to the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the EU civilian observation mission in Armenia, in which Belgium wishes to participate. Our country also places great importance on stability and friendly relations in the South Caucasus,” the statement reads.
