An Armenian Killed in Israel Due to Rocket Fire from Gaza

An Armenian community member in Israel has been killed during a rocket attack on the city of Rehovot from the Gaza Strip. This information was shared on Facebook by Artem Chernamoryan, the president of the Nairi Union of Israeli Armenians in Petah Tikva.

“80-year-old retiree Inga Abrahamyan was killed in her apartment on the 3rd floor due to the explosion of a rocket,” he wrote, accompanying the post with a photo.

Mrs. Inga's husband was also injured. Chernamoryan noted that as a result of the rocket attack on the building, one person was killed and 12 residents were injured. The residents of the building have been relocated to a hotel.

Notably, this is the first casualty from the Armenian community resulting from the Palestine-Israel conflict since 2008. On April 1, 2008, David Papyan, the son of conductor and composer Vahagn Papyan, who had moved from Armenia to Israel, was killed in the Gaza Strip.
