Armenian Director's Genocide Film Wins Awards in Turkey

Director Ara Mnatsakanyan's film "American Good Samaritans" has won awards for "Best Film Music" (Artashes Kartalyan) and "Best Film Producer" (Manvel Saribekyan) at the International Anatolian Film Awards (AFA) in Turkey. The film presents documentaries of testimonies and memoirs from witnesses of the genocide of Armenian, Assyrian, and Greek peoples.

The film is also featured in competitive programs of other Turkish film festivals, although the results have not yet been announced.

“American Good Samaritans” was created with financial support from the Government of Armenia, the Armenian Missionary Association of America, the Mardirosian-Agarakian Law Firm, the National University of Beirut, various branches of the HOG in Thessaloniki, the Vardanants Knights branch in New York, as well as contributions from several benefactors in the diaspora.

The screenplay is written by Amber Carlinson (USA), with Manvel Saribekyan as the producer and Ashot Mkrtchyan as the cinematographer. The production company is "Man Pictures Production."
