U.S. Attorney General Allows Transfer of Russian Oligarch's Assets to Ukraine
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has allowed for the transfer of assets belonging to a Russian oligarch to Ukraine for the first time, according to Reuters. The assets in question pertain to Russian entrepreneur Konstantin Malofeev.
In April 2022, the U.S. Department of Justice accused him of violating sanctions imposed against Russia due to its military aggression against Ukraine. According to U.S. authorities, Malofeev has financially supported Russian efforts to incite separatist sentiments in Crimea.
