A Servant is Still Human; If He Were God, He Wouldn’t Have Allowed That Mistake: Pashinyan on Alen Simonyan
I condemn all attempts to spit on people. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Azatutyun, responding to a question regarding the incident involving the National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan and his behavior towards an individual the government had declared a supreme value.
“Of course, a mistake occurred, but that mistake did not happen because its author is the second official of the Republic; it happened because that second official of the Republic is a human being, and if he were God, he wouldn’t have allowed that mistake,” the Prime Minister said.
It is noteworthy that on April 3, citizen Karen Mkrtchyan announced on his Facebook page that he had called National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan a traitor in the Cascade area, after which Simonyan ordered his bodyguards to grab him and spat in his face.
Later, Alen Simonyan did not deny the incident through a Facebook post: “Make sure to keep your ears open, as the arrogance directed at the legitimate authorities of Armenia will not go unanswered legally,” Simonyan stated.
