Outrageous Revelations: How Andranik Kocharyan Deceived Gyumri Residents
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" has received a report of an article published in the newspaper "Golos Armenii" regarding Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Civil Contract party (CP). It should be recalled that from 1994 to 1996, he served as the Extraordinary Representative of the Armenian government in the region affected by the Spitak earthquake, and disgraceful revelations are being made about his activities.
In particular, there is a segment concerning the reception of guests from Yerevan. Among the well-known figures in Gyumri are the Mkhtaryan brothers, Hambardzum and Hakob. The first is the director of the "Van" complex, while the second works at a restaurant. When Kocharyan and his team settled into a sanatorium, the Mkhtaryan brothers felt it was their duty to host the guests from the capital, but it later became clear that they were simply obliged to do so.
Moreover, they were to pay for the expenses solely from their own pockets. It has reached the point that the Mkhtaryan brothers are covering not only the water, electricity, and utility service costs but are also buying soap, napkins, and, excuse me, toilet paper for Andranik Kocharyan and his guests,” the article states. The total amount of expenses amounts to 2 million 200 thousand Russian rubles. Kocharyan reimbursed only 500 thousand, leaving the Mkhtaryan brothers bankrupt.
More details are available in today’s issue of the newspaper.
