Boxer Hovhannes Bachkov Secures Victory Over Rival

Member of Armenia's boxing team and bronze medalist at the Olympic Games, Hovhannes Bachkov, began the World Championship with a victory.

In the opening match of the 63.5 kg weight category at the World Championship taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Bachkov faced off against Serbia's Alexey Sendrik. The Armenian boxer achieved victory over his opponent.

Hovhannes Bachkov has been a three-time bronze medalist at the World Boxing Championships (2017, 2019, 2021) and is a three-time champion at the European Championships (2017, 2019, 2022). He is also a bronze medalist at the 32nd Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. Bachkov had his first match in the professional ring in 2020.
