Samvel Gasparyan Wins Small Gold Medal at European Weightlifting Championship

At the European Weightlifting Championship held in Yerevan, in the men's 109 kg category, Samvel Gasparyan has secured a small gold medal. After the snatch competition, he emerged as the leader with a lift of 175 kg, confirming his title as the European champion.

Petros Petrosyan, the second representative from Armenia in this weight category and a silver medalist at the Youth World Championship as well as a silver medalist at the M20 European Championship, finished in 6th place with a lift of 165 kg.

Samvel Gasparyan, the bronze medalist of the World Championship from Gyumri, started the snatch with 172 kg. He succeeded in lifting 175 kg on his second attempt, leaving all his competitors behind and earning the small gold medal.

Petros Petrosyan, the Youth World Champion, successfully lifted 160 kg on his first attempt, failed at 165 kg on his second attempt, but managed to fix the 165 kg barbell overhead successfully on his third attempt.
