Belgrade School Shooter Planned Target a Month in Advance
A 13-year-old boy who carried out a shooting at a school in Belgrade on May 3 had been planning the murders for several weeks and had a "hit list." This information was reported by the BBC.
It has also been noted that the boy's father and mother have been arrested. The motives for the attack remain unknown.
To recall, the shooting resulted in the deaths of eight students, along with a school security staff member. Six other students and a teacher were injured, with some of the wounded in critical condition.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that the boy would be sent to a psychiatric hospital. According to Serbian laws, he cannot be held criminally responsible as he has not yet turned 14. Vučić suggested that the age for criminal liability could possibly be lowered to 12 following these murders.
Information received indicated that the boy had planned the attack a month in advance and had a list of children's "priorities" he aimed to target first, in addition to a list of classrooms he intended to enter first.
The majority of the victims and those injured were born in 2009, meaning they were 13 or 14 years old at the time of the attack.
It should be noted that a three-day mourning period was declared in Serbia starting from May 5.
