Two Packages Discovered in Underwear: Visitor to Inmate Arrested

The Operational Department of the "Armavir" Penitentiary Institution of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia had previously received information that during a short visit, an attempt would be made to transfer suspicious substances to inmate G. N.

Acting on the operational information received, on May 2, around 15:30, officers from the institution's security assurance department searched citizen A. S., who had come for a short visit to G. N. As a result, they discovered two packages hidden in A. S.'s underwear.

One of the packages contained a brown substance weighing 2.13 grams that resembled drugs, while the other contained a white substance weighing 0.90 grams. A. S. verbally stated that these substances were drugs, which he intended to pass on to inmate G. N. during the short visit.

Citizen A. S. was arrested by officers of the operational department of the "Armavir" Penitentiary Institution and presented to the Vagarshapat investigative division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. A criminal case has been initiated.
