Uganda's Minister Shot Dead by Bodyguard, Who Subsequently Committed Suicide

The Minister of Labor, Employment and Industrial Relations of Uganda, Charles Okello Engola, was shot dead by his bodyguard while on his way to work. The information was reported by the Daily Monitor.

According to police reports, several shots were fired. The bodyguard fled the scene of the crime but later committed suicide.

According to sources, the Ugandan Minister of Information and Communications Technology was heading to a cabinet meeting. It has been reported that the minister's personal secretary, Ronald Otim, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Medical examiners are working at the scene.
