Arthur Ghazaryan Wins His Match by Knockout at the World Boxing Championship

In the men's world boxing championship underway in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 60 kg weight class athlete Arthur Ghazaryan has defeated Burundian competitor Mohamed Nyingaboz by knockout in the 1/16 finals. This information is provided by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.

It is noteworthy that the Armenian national team is participating in the men's world boxing championship with 11 athletes. Under the leadership of Karen Aghamalyan, the team includes Baregam Harutyunyan (48 kg), Rudolf Garboyan (51 kg), Ruslan Aslikyan (54 kg), Arthur Bazeyan (57 kg), Arthur Ghazaryan (60 kg), Hovhannes Bachkov (63.5 kg), Gurgen Madoyan (67 kg), Hambardzum Hakobyan (80 kg), Raphael Hovhannisyan (86 kg), Narek Manasyan (92 kg), and David Chaloyan (92+ kg).

Armenia will have two representatives in today's championship. Hambardzum Hakobyan in the 80 kg category and Raphael Hovhannisyan in the 86 kg category will enter the ring. Hakobyan will face Chinese competitor T. Ke Tuohetai in the 1/16 finals, while European vice-champion Raphael Hovhannisyan will measure his strength against Israeli athlete Yan Zaki in the same round.

The world championship for adult boxing will conclude on May 14.
