Hovhannes Harutyunyan Wins Bronze Medal at European Boxing Championships
In the ongoing European Youth Boxing Championships in Yerevan, Armenian representative Hovhannes Harutyunyan, competing in the 48 kg weight category, has won a bronze medal.
In the semifinals, Harutyunyan faced Italy’s Kanone Tonasoy and lost by a score of 0-5 after three rounds, settling for the bronze medal.
Today, Armenia will have another 11 representatives in the semifinals. In the afternoon session, 51 kg weight category boxer Davit Safaryan will compete against Germany's Miles-Francis Okah, while 54 kg competitor Erik Arstamyan will square off against Armenian-descendant Gors Aivazyan from Georgia. In the 57 kg weight category, Gor Azizyan will compete in the semifinals against Russian Magomed Pashayev.
In the evening session, starting at 17:30, 63.5 kg competitor Arthur Mkrtchyan will fight Romanian Niju Arun Tudoroi, 67 kg boxer Yura Babloyan will aim for a spot in the finals against Russian Alexey Gukov, 71 kg athlete Arman Miskaryan will face Hungarian Kriztian Nileborg, and 75 kg boxer Armen Poghosyan will take on an Italian representative. Additionally, Agvan Alexanyan in the 80 kg category, Davit Simonyan at 86 kg, Ishkhan Hovsepyan at 92 kg, and super heavyweight Albert Harutyunyan will also be competing.
