Raids Conducted at Bayern Munich Offices: Bild
Investigators from federal and regional criminal police have raided the headquarters of Bayern Munich and the Allianz Arena, according to Bild newspaper.
The raids were prompted by a case involving Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov related to money laundering and tax evasion.
In response to questions about Usmanov's connection to Bayern, Bild clarified that the Russian businessman is acquainted with the club's former president, Uli Hoeneß. The newspaper reports that before March 2022, Usmanov frequented the health resort town of Tegernsee, where Hoeneß also often visited.
Usmanov's spokesperson denied that there are grounds for launching an investigation against the businessman. “As we have stated before, such suspicions are unfounded, and any accusations are false and defame Mr. Usmanov's reputation,” said Usmanov's spokesperson.
