Pashinyan's Location Not Revealed in Advance; Citizen's Day This Year to be Celebrated Elaborately

“Tomorrow, April 29, is the Citizen's Day declared by the current authorities. Back in 2019, the National Assembly adopted a draft law proposed by the Government to amend the law on 'Holidays and Memorial Days,' establishing the last Saturday in April as Citizen's Day,” reports the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper.

“Interestingly, Citizen's Day has only been celebrated once during these years, in 2019. On that occasion, Nikol Pashinyan and other officials closed several central streets in Yerevan and organized a barbecue party. Since 2019, Pashinyan's associates seem to have forgotten their declared holiday and allow themselves to spit in the citizens' faces in downtown Yerevan or threaten to cut off people's ears and tongues, as indicated by the Secretary of the CP faction, Arthur Hovhannisyan.

Citizen's Day was not celebrated in 2020 due to the pandemic, nor in 2021 due to the war. According to the newspaper, this year it will again be celebrated with great pomp. The Ministry of Education and Science has informed us that events will be organized in all regions and various administrative districts of Yerevan, totaling 66 communities. The events will consist of two parts: a lecture and a cultural event.”

The newspaper learned from CP faction deputies that the representatives will personally attend these events, traveling to the regions or being present in Yerevan as per their wish. It is known that Nikol Pashinyan will also participate in the events dedicated to Citizen's Day. “The government has stated that the specifics are not yet clear. Probably to avoid incidents, Pashinyan's location is not revealed in advance,” the article concludes.
