Turkey's Defense Minister on Armenia-Turkey Relations

At a conference on the topic of the "Armenian Question" at Kayseri University in Istanbul, Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar addressed Armenia-Turkey relations.

Akar stated that the propaganda of genocide is one of the main obstacles to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey. He mentioned, "Our Azerbaijani brothers returned their lands after 30 years of occupation. After that, we reached out to Armenia for peace. We want Armenia to agree to peace as soon as possible and not to hinder the future of its people with any absurdities," Akar stated.
