Incident of Violence Against Tavush Military Commissioner Unrelated to Official Duties, CCC
The incident of violence against Tavush Military Commissioner Lernik Ohanyan at a gas station is unrelated to his official duties, according to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
"A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident of violence against L. Ohanyan based on clauses 7 and 12 of Part 2 of Article 167 and Part 1 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. He has been recognized as a victim in the proceedings. According to the data obtained during the investigation, the incident is not related to his official activities," the CCC stated.
During a dispute regarding queue maintenance at a gas station in the Tavush village of Berd community, L. Ohanyan was subjected to violence by two individuals. These individuals have been arrested based on reasonable suspicion of committing the offense. They have been charged under clauses 7 and 12 of Part 2 of Article 167 and Part 1 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code.
By a court decision, one of them has been placed in custody for two months, while the other has been placed under house arrest.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and procedural and evidentiary actions are being carried out to clarify all circumstances of the case. A forensic examination has been appointed," Radar Armenia reported from the CCC.
