VIDEO: Mass Clashes in French Lyon Between Pot-Wielding Protesters and Police
Mass clashes occurred yesterday in Lyon, France, between police and protesters opposing pension reforms. Media reports indicate that dissatisfied protesters attempted to invade the University of Lyon with empty pots. Local police were forced to exert significant efforts to contain them.
As previously reported, spontaneous protests have taken place in several cities across France to mark the anniversary of President Emmanuel Macron's re-election. It is worth noting that on April 15, Macron signed the controversial pension reform law. On April 14, France's Constitutional Council approved the increase of the retirement age to 64 years.
Law enforcement authorities have arrested 112 individuals in Paris amid protests against the pension reforms.
