US Seismologists Predict Another Strong Earthquake in Turkey
Following the devastating earthquakes that struck Turkey on February 6, seismologists from the University of Southern California have analyzed the likelihood of further seismic activity in the region using remote monitoring methods, reports Ermenihaber.am.
The studies were conducted in the Pyturghe region of Malatya province, where subterranean tremors could occur at any moment. According to the research findings, a portion of the tectonic fault remains locked, and a magnitude 6.8 earthquake could potentially occur in the future. However, seismologists have not been able to determine when the earthquake might happen.
