Russia Withdraws Commanding Officer of Peacekeeping Forces in Artsakh

The Russian authorities have decided to withdraw the commanding officer of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh, Alexander Volkov, replacing him with another officer. This was reported by Infoteka24.

The publication 'Hraparak' also notes that this change indicates the Russian side's dissatisfaction with Volkov's performance and attributes the behavior of Azerbaijanis in Artsakh to the complicity of the Russian commander. Therefore, they have opted to bring in a more experienced individual with higher status and connections.

According to our sources, the new commander has been instructed to curb the growing aggression of Azerbaijan and to regain control. Russian circles inform us that the new commander has been told that the normal operation of the road in Artsakh is a red line for Russia, and the checkpoint on the road must be exclusively controlled by Russian military forces.

We have learned from Artsakh that Alexander Volkov is already preparing to leave. It is expected that the new commander will arrive in the coming days and is already en route.
