Vardan Voskanian on the Expansionist Aspirations of Baku's Barbaric Regime Towards Armenia
“Every time the head of Baku's barbaric regime blusters about expansionist aspirations towards Armenia, allegedly citing historical legitimacy, he should remember that, for instance, the village of Avesh (spelled as Աւէշ in ancient Armenian script), currently occupied in the territory of Nakhichevan, has its native name barbarously distorted to Hovush and is documented in a clear record from the 13th century as belonging to the Noravank Monastery: ‘...I, the unworthy bishop Sarkis, built this monastery and gave this hospitality to the village of Avesh with all its boundaries by the will and command of my most blessed lords...’
Iranian scholar Vardan Voskanian writes and adds: The ancient Armenian communities and territories under the oppressive regime of Baku have similar historically substantiated documents; therefore, the barbarians cannot claim any historical, supposedly legitimate rights to even a fragment of Armenia's sacred lands.
Attached are the full inscription from Noravank Monastery and the location of the village Avesh (distorted to Hovush).”
