VIDEO: Second and Third Presidents Spoke Good Azerbaijani with the Azerbaijani President - Sukiasyan
Khachatur Sukiasyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction, addressed the criticisms directed at the current government by the opposition during his speech in the National Assembly:
“You accuse our state with limited capabilities; what should it have done that it could not do? We will educate our society and will have an institutional state where all structures will function, and your percentage will decrease. You criticize us, and I ask: the second and third presidents spoke good Azerbaijani with the Azerbaijani president; can we know what they were talking about?”
According to Sukiasyan, everything had been known since the 1990s, about what the great powers wanted and when they became active. “We all know well. We want weapons—but they don’t give them, yet they will when it’s time. One says: ‘Come down from the positions so we can hit you better,’ and the other talks about drones, I don’t know what’s being done.”
Sukiasyan stated that the state must strengthen the economy, which would also lead to an increase in birth rates. “You say you are a national party; when was the last time you told the people to have one more child? When we talk about the economy, it means the army, education, healthcare, and birth rates. You need money to support that family. Let’s change our way of relating, let’s respect each other. We have said ‘democracy’; if you want, you can say you are ‘mixed guys’, but in times of democracy, we must be quiet, yet it doesn’t mean that society must accept what you say,” emphasized the ruling party member. The latter also noted that our victory in the 1990s was also conditioned by other countries, as is our current defeat.
