European Weightlifting Championship in Yerevan is the Best in the Last 10 Years, Says Turkish Representative

Turkish athletes have won 6 gold medals in the early days of the Weightlifting European Championship taking place in Yerevan. Talat Unlu, the president of the Turkish Weightlifting Federation, expresses great joy over this achievement. According to him, the championship is very well organized in Armenia.

“The organizers have made very serious and good preparations; the only thing that saddened us was that well-known incident involving the disrespectful act of a protester. Indeed, a lot of effort has been put in, and I have told our country's television the same thing that this is the best-organized European Championship in the last ten years,” he said.

“Had it not been for that incident on the first day when the Azerbaijani flag was burned, everything would have been perfect. For us, everything has been taken into account here, we have no issues, and even too much has been done, which made us feel uncomfortable. However, we understand that what needed to be done has been done, and that too has been very well organized,” Talat Unlu stated in an interview with Armenpress.
