Weightlifter Tatev Hakobyan Becomes European Vice Champion

Member of Armenia's women's weightlifting team, 76 kg weight category athlete Tatev Hakobyan has won a silver medal at the European Championship held in Yerevan, achieving a total lift of 226 kg (104+122 kg).

Another representative from Armenia, 16-year-old Emma Poghosyan, finished in 5th place with a combined lift of 217 kg (96+121 kg).

In the snatch event, Hakobyan successfully executed two attempts, managing to hold a 104 kg barbell overhead, also earning a small silver medal. For her third attempt, she attempted 107 kg but was unable to lift it.

In the clean and jerk event, Hakobyan lifted 118 kg in her first attempt, 122 kg in her second, but unfortunately failed her third attempt with 126 kg. In this event, she claimed a small bronze medal.

Emma Poghosyan successfully completed two attempts in the snatch, holding a 96 kg barbell overhead, and lifted 121 kg in the clean and jerk.

The European Championship title in this weight category was won by France's Marie Faeg, with a total lift of 253 kg. The French athlete also earned small gold medals in the snatch and clean and jerk events. The top three was rounded out by Latvia's Daniela Ivanova with a total lift of 222 kg.
