David Hovhannisyan Wins European Weightlifting Championship, Ara Aghanyan Becomes Runner-Up

David Hovhannisyan, a member of the Armenian weightlifting team, has claimed the European Championship title for the second time in his career, achieving a total lift of 377 kg that left his competitors far behind. The reigning European champion also secured small gold medals in the snatch and clean and jerk events with results of 172 kg and 205 kg, respectively.

Ara Aghanyan was crowned European runner-up with a total lift of 364 kg. He earned a small bronze medal in the snatch event with a lift of 165 kg, while in the clean and jerk category, he won a small silver medal with a lift of 199 kg.

The top three in this weight category was rounded out by Italy's Giuseppe Ficco, who totaled 363 kg.
