71 Properties Owned by the Ministry of Defense Up for Sale, Including Former Military Bases

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that in April 2022, it became known that 71 properties owned by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia were put up for sale under the pretext of "rearming and modernizing the military," including former military bases.

For example, the former Russian military base on Shiraz Street, the former capital garrison, and others are included in this list. As of April 20, 2023, one year later, only one of the 71 properties has been sold, and applications for another have concluded.

According to the State Property Management Committee, 39 of the 71 properties have currently been transferred to them, while the handover of the remaining 32 properties has not yet occurred.

The sold property is a partially constructed building on Tsarav Aghbyur Street, with an area of 332.72 square meters, and a land plot occupying 0.15116 hectares. They promised to reveal who purchased the property and at what price in the coming days. The minimum price for the building was set at 85 million 250 thousand drams.

Regarding the former Russian military base on Shiraz Street put up for sale through a competition, the minimum price is set at 190 million 950 thousand drams. It consists of a public building with an area of 715.56 square meters and a land plot occupying 0.17475 hectares.

The committee stated that they could not disclose how many applications had been submitted for this property, as the applications are still in a sealed box and will be opened during the competition.
