National Security Service to Send Charges Against Tsarukyan to Court
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports: "The pre-investigation into the case of Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia faction, has been completed. The National Security Service will send the case to court. This pertains to the case of distributing bribes in favor of the Prosperous Armenia Party during the 2017 parliamentary elections, with nine individuals, including Tsarukyan, charged with organizing the bribery. Five others have also been charged with giving bribes.
A total of 162 individuals have been interrogated in connection with this case. It should be noted that in the previous parliament, Gagik Tsarukyan was stripped of his parliamentary immunity, faced charges, and was released on bail.
Interestingly, all criminal cases concerning the other accused individuals have been terminated, and only Tsarukyan's case is being sent to court. This case was largely considered a balloon case, as no substantial evidence had been found that Tsarukyan had any connection to the bribery issue, and the criminal case was initiated purely for political expediency. Now, they are compelled to send the case to court."
