Video: Son Attacks Mother, Cuts Her Neck – New Details from the Police

The Police of Armenia has provided details of an incident days ago in which a son assaulted his mother and cut her neck at a hotel.

"On April 16, at 14:33, the police operational management center received a report from the staff of a hotel on Saqoy Street in the capital, stating that a woman and a man had arrived at the hotel, claiming to be mother and son. Subsequently, sounds of beating were heard from their room, and when the staff approached the room, they discovered the woman in a bloody and beaten state.

Minutes later, an ambulance report came in from the Arabkir substation, indicating that they were transporting an injured woman from the mentioned hotel to the hospital. At 15:52, the Armenia Medical Center reported that an ambulance team had taken a 75-year-old woman who had sustained a cut and bleeding wound to her neck from the hotel.

Prior to that, a report had been received from the First University Hospital, stating that a 37-year-old man had been transferred to them from the same hotel with bodily injuries, who had jumped from the 4th floor and sustained a broken leg.

The heads of the police and investigative departments, along with an operational group, went to the scene. It was revealed that during a dispute in the hotel room at 13:00, the 37-year-old man had assaulted his mother, cut her neck with a knife, and then attempted to escape by jumping off the hotel’s 4th-floor balcony.

The knife used in the crime has been discovered. The documentation has been transferred to the investigative department. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified," the statement said.
