Hundreds of Flights Canceled in Germany
Due to staff strikes at Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and Cologne-Bonn airports, hundreds of flights have been canceled. The strike was previously announced by the Verdi union.
According to RIA Novosti, airport workers are demanding higher benefits for overtime work and irregular hours through the strike. Based on data from Hamburg Airport published on the airport's website, all regular 308 flights were canceled on Thursday and Friday during the two days of the strike. These cancellations will affect approximately 80,000 passengers.
Press services from Düsseldorf and Cologne-Bonn airports reported that the strike would lead to significant disruptions, although the exact number of canceled flights is still unknown.
